Volunteers Wanted: Help Restore Native Habitat at Great Mountain Forest

Join the Norfolk Nature Alliance at Great Mountain Forest on for a hands-on native planting project in South Norfolk.

As part of a scientific study being conducted by The Xerces Society, two quarter-acre plots at GMF have been cleared of invasive plants and fenced to protect them from deer browsing. Now it’s time for the next step: replanting the sites with native plants and shrubs and helping these areas begin their recovery.

Volunteers will help get these native plants in the ground while contributing to research exploring the effectiveness of invasive plant removal and native replanting.

No tools are needed—just bring a pair of work gloves. Space is limited, so advance registration is required.
