Trail Walk with GMF Trustee Bart Jones

Join us for a guided hike through the breathtaking landscapes of Great Mountain Forest with Bart Jones, a distinguished trustee of GMF, recipient of the Connecticut Land Conservation Council (CLCC) Award, and an active environmentalist supporting the Housatonic Valley Association (HVA), Great Mountain Forest, and the Cornwall Land Trust.

This leisurely walk offers a unique opportunity to explore one of the region’s most beautiful natural areas while engaging in thoughtful conversation about land conservation and forest stewardship. We’ll begin our journey at the west gate near 200 Canaan Mountain Road and follow a gentle trail leading to the serene waters of Old Man McMullen Pond.

Along the way, Bart will share insights into the ecology, history, and ongoing conservation efforts that shape this remarkable forest. Whether you’re a seasoned outdoor enthusiast or simply curious about local conservation, this is a perfect chance to enjoy nature and connect with like-minded individuals.

This is a free event!

Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring along a water bottle and snack.
